This 4-year-old sport of C. japonica 'Betty Sheffield' first bloomed circa 1950. It was registered in 1956 by the Thomasville Nurseries, of Thomasville, Georgia.

Bloom: The medium to large flowers are deep pink, incomplete double with 30 petals and mixed petaloids, 4.9"-5.9" across.

Plant: Average, compact growth.

Leaf: Glossy, rich green, oval, 4" x 2", apex prominent acuminate, serrations shallow with black pointed tips.

Bloom Season: Midseason to late
