This 14-year-old chance seedling of C. japonica ‘Edna Campbell’ first bloomed in 2005. It was originated by Hulyn Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, and registered and propagated by Randolph Maphis of Tallahassee, Florida.

Bloom: The small sized 2.5” to 3.25” x 1” semidouble to formal double form flower is raspberry red and has incurved petals. It is a profuse bloomer, with consistent form and long lasting flowers.

Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses.

Leaf: The medium green leaves average 3” x 1.5” with low serration.

Bloom season: Early to midseason.
