This 20-year-old C. reticulata chance seedling first bloomed in 2000. It was originated by Hulyn Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, and registered and propagated by Randolph Maphis of Tallahassee, Florida.
Bloom: The large sized 4” x 1.5” semidouble form flower is flame to dark red. It has yellow anthers and pink fading to white filaments. The flowers fall in one piece and have consistent form and heavy petal texture.
Plant: The plant habit is open. The growth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for exhibition use.
Leaf: The dark green leaves average 4.5” x 2.5” with low serration.
Bloom season: Late.
