This 14-year-old chance japonica seedling first bloomed in 1960. It was originated by William Forrest Bray, of Pensacola, Florida.

Bloom: The large formal double flower has large dark red  petals with darker veins and a dark purple border on the petal tips.

Plant:
Plant growth is dense and rapid.

Leaf: Dark green leaves, 11 cm long x 6 cm wide.

Bloom season: Midseason to late.
