About the Greenville Camellia Society

The Greenville Camellia Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to safeguard Butler County’s distinctive camellia heritage and champion its legacy as “The Camellia City” as a cultural tourism destination. Our objective is to produce an annual American Camellia Society-sponsored camellia show and strive to make it the best in the state.

We are an all-inclusive organization and welcome men and women as members. Our annual membership dues are $30, payable each May at our traditional garden party. We hold many fun activities and fundraisers throughout the year to support our mission. Join us as we honor our heritage as the Camellia City!

	Beeland Park Gardens - Greenville, Alabama
	The 8 acre camellia gardens are within the perimeter of our Beeland Park. There are 300 plus camellias that are 70 years old. On the east side of Beeland park, a new garden was planted about 10 years ago. There are about 100 additional sasanquas and japonicas in the “new” garden.

	Magnolia Cemetary
	The City of Greenville’s Horticulture Department oversees and maintains Magnolia Cemetery. Magnolia has significant historical value and we encourage the public to visit and enjoy the serene beauty of the cemetery. Hours of operation are sunrise to sunset.

	Pioneer Cemetery
	Our mission is to honor the memory of Greenville's early settlers by restoring and preserving Pioneer Cemetery as a place of beauty and a source of pride for the community and all who visti there.
