The 8-year-old seedling first flowered in 1992. Originated and propagated by Dick P. Hardison, Tallahassee, Florida.
Bloom: A large, red edged black, formal double, C. japonica chance seedling. Average size flower, untreated, is 5" wide and 1.5" deep with 75 petals. Chemically treated flowers measure 6+" wide and 2" deep.
Plant: Plant growth is dense and average.
Leaves: Dark green leaves measuring 2.2" long and 1.5" wide.
Bloom season: Early to late.
