This 11-year-old C. japonica seedling of 'H. A. Downing' flowered for the first time in 1951 and was originated by Mrs. Sylvia Donahoo of Pensacola, Florida.
Bloom: The very large 5.3" semi-double dark red flowers are similar in form to 'Adolphe Audusson'. The 21 petals are creped and curled and the anthers are yellow.
Bloom season: Midseason to late.
