This 10-year-old C. japonica chance seedling of 'Moonlight Bay' first bloomed in 1990 and was originated by Dale Fitzgerald of Orlando, Florida and propagated and registered by Erinon Nursery, of Plymouth, Florida in 1997.
Bloom: The large to very large blush pink bloom has with one or more red stripes. Blooms are semi-double with occasional rabbit ears and 5" wide untreated and 2"-3" deep with 8-12 petals, yellow anthers and white filaments. Average size flower treated is 7" wide and 3"-4" deep.
Plant: Plant growth is upright and vigorous.
Leaf: Dark green leaves measure 3" long and 1.5" wide.
