The Cover: Dr. Clifford Parks bred C. reticulata hybrid 'LASCA Beauty' when he was a botanist at the Los Angeles State and County Arboretum and named it using the first letter of each word in the arboretum's name. Since it is a beautiful flower, he added "Beauty". This widely grown C. reticulata hybrid bloom was awarded the Aubrey Harris Hybrid Award in 1978.
